Loving Father, help us to remember that every day provides us
with the opportunity to bear witness. We place our trust and
hope in you; you provide us with wisdom that allows us to
withstand challenging times. Hear our prayers we place before
you.
We pray as we are reminded ‘Jesus changes us and calls us to
work in God’s great construction site, wisely shaping us
according to His plans for salvation.’ Help us to dig within
ourselves so that we can build a true community of faith with
humility and peace.
As we enter November, and the commercial aspect of the
Christmas season begins, we pray for all those that are
struggling financially. Let us remember the true meaning of
Advent and give the gift of our time, to those who need it most.
We pray for all those that are experiencing poor mental health.
May the Holy Spirit comfort and reassure them and remind
them they are loved.
We pray for all those that are enduring a sense of loss, be that
through a bereavement, a breakdown of relationship, a collapse
in friendship, loss of a job. May they feel nurtured through their
faith and consoled by the love of the Holy Spirit.
We pray for those that are feeling lost and abandoned. Help us
to act as lighthouses, navigating those struggling in the sea of
life to shore. Help us to keep them safe and secure.
We pray for our own church community. As Advent approaches
may we grow together in faith and friendship at the excited
anticipation of our great saviour’s coming.
Heavenly Lord, your never-ending love gives us the strength
and courage to lead the life you chose for us. Thank you for
always guiding us. Amen.
