Let us bring our prayers before Christ, the King of glory, whose reign is justice, peace, and love.
We pray for the Church and her leaders throughout the world. May they proclaim Christ’s kingship which is shown, not in power, but in humble service and truth.
We pray for leaders of nations and all in authority. May they govern with wisdom, compassion, and a desire for peace, especially in those countries where there is war, tension and an abuse of human rights.
We pray for everyone affected by Storm Claudia and by the recent typhoons and earthquakes in the Caribbean and Asia. May they find the courage and support they need to rebuild their lives, homes and workplaces. May they discover hope in their darkness.
We pray for the emergency services and first responders who act with generosity and gentleness in times of crisis. May they be blessed for the ways in which they place the safety of others above their own security and comfort.
We pray for our parish and local community. May we be messengers of God’s mercy, forgiveness and welcome to the people around us.
Lord Jesus, king and centre of our hearts, hear the prayers of your people and reign in our lives and loves, now and forever. Amen.
