Loving Lord, as we move into Holy Week and prepare follow you to the cross, show us how to be people of faith even in dark times, keeping our sights on the resurrection that we know lies on the other side of Good Friday.
We pray for leaders of all world faiths, especially those in regions where there is war and discord. We ask God to give them loving hearts; that they might promote and preach a message of universal peace.
As war continues in the Middle East and Ukraine, and tensions are high in many places, we pray that political leaders will choose compassion over conflict and will make real, sustainable peace their goal.
We pray for anyone impacted by hate crime, remembering those affected by the arson attack in London earlier this week. May they find the conviction and courage to continue their charitable work andmay love supplant hatred in the hearts of those who seek to inflict harm on others.
We pray for those affected by the high cost of living; that they might find the support they need. And in lives so often distracted by cares and anxiety, we pray that our homes and community spaces may be places of safety, connection and compassion.
We take a moment for our personal prayers…
Lord of life and hope, as we continue our journey towards Easter we ask for clarity and focus, to understand how Lent revitalises our faith, and to inspire us as we go forward with renewed hearts and fresh purpose. Amen.
