Bidding Prayers – 6th September

Loving Lord, today we are reminded where two or three are gathered in your name, there you are amongst us. As we gather here, as a church community, we give thanks for your presence today. Hear the prayers we bring before you…

We pray for the care of water’. Water quenches thirst and nourishes the earth. As Christians, it serves as a symbol of God’s grace and love for us and our renewal in Baptism. Help us, this month and beyond, to treasure the gift of water and pray for those in the world who live without its life-giving properties.

This week, as we celebrate The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we pray to draw ever closer to the Mother of God. Help us to witness her dedication and trust in God, and in doing so, recognise and improve our own.

We pray for schools, colleges and universities at the start of the new academic term. We pray both teachers and pupils will relish the opportunity to learn together, to enrich one another and be engaged to achieve the best outcomes for each other for the year ahead.

We pray for those experiencing severe loneliness and isolation. In a world that is so busy, help us to turn our attention and care to those that do not have the opportunity to enjoy conversations or companionship. Helps us seek to improve the lives of those living in the shadows.

We pray for those feeling low, depressed and unworthy. Help them to recognise their self-worth and to discover their unique God given gifts. May the rising sun of each new day provide them with strength to continue and strive for a happier existence.

As we say goodbye to the summer months, we look forward to embracing autumn with good health and strong faith. May our church community be blessed with an abundance of blessings this season.

Loving Lord, help us to build strong connections and relationships. Help us to live and love fully. So that where we invest our love, we invest our life. Amen.
