God of love, you call us to turn away from that which divides us and to seek the good in one another. We bring our hopes and concerns to you in prayer.
We pray for all those living through war and violence, especially the people of Ukraine, Gaza and the wider Holy Land, and for those caught up in conflicts in Sudan, Myanmar and elsewhere. We remember those who have lost homes and loved ones. May those in positions of power choose the challenging work of peace.
In our prayers we remember all those who are experiencing the effects of a changing climate. As communities face floods, droughts, extreme heat and the loss of homes and livelihoods, we pray that governments, businesses and individuals might make whatever changes they can to lessen their impact on the natural world.
We pray for people around the world who do not have enough food, clean water or a safe place to live. We remember those closer to home who are dependent on food banks, struggling with the cost of living, or facing the insecurity of homelessness.
On Home Mission Sunday, we pray to be shown how we can play our part in sharing the beauty and joy of knowing Jesus Christ.
We remember our own communities, especially those within them who feel isolated, unwelcome or forgotten. We pray for families under pressure, for young people facing an uncertain future and for those who find it difficult to cope with the demands of everyday life. May our churches be places where people can find friendship, practical help and a sense of belonging.

God of compassion, as we pray for change, show us how we can play our own part in bringing it about. Give us courage and discernment to know where we can make a difference, and patience when change is slow. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
