Heavenly Father, today we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. Let us Christians remember this sacred inner force and strength and welcome it into our lives. Hear our prayers we bring before you.
We pray to be open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. When we welcome the Holy Spirit into our hearts and minds, we are being filled with the gifts of forgiveness, love and understanding.
We pray for Queen Elizabeth as we celebrate her Platinum Jubilee. Her wisdom, strength and adaptability have shown true leadership. Reward her for all that she has done for us.
Gracious God, we give you thanks
for the reign of your servant Elizabeth our Queen,
and for the example of loving and faithful service
which she has shown among us.
Help us to follow her example of dedication
and to commit our lives to you and to one another,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Almighty God, the fountain of all goodness,
bless our Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth,
and all who are in authority under her;
that they may order all things
in wisdom and equity, righteousness and peace,
to the honour and glory of your name
and the good of your Church and people;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
The war in Ukraine is a global issue affecting all parts of the world. We pray that a resolution will be negotiated swiftly so that peace can prevail, and lives saved.
We pray for all those that are currently experiencing a big change in their life, be that a new job, a new course of study, house move or entering a new relationship. May the Holy Spirit bless all new adventures with much hope and happiness.
Loving Lord, give us the direction we need in our lives. Always be with us and continue to teach us. Amen.
