As we read in today’s Gospel, we hear the voice of Jesus, he knows us, we follow him. We think of the newly appointed Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, who will be led by God to shepherd us. Lord, hear our prayers we bring before you.
As the Catholic family around the world unites in prayer for the new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, we pray he will lead with confidence, clarity and compassion. May he bring us together as a Holy family, may he steer us with love, build bridges, help us to see the unseen and act with humility and kindness.
We pray that the Cardinals, Bishops, our Church leaders and clergy, and our worldwide Christian community, will support and pray for Pope Leo XIV. Let us support and serve him as justly as he will serve us.
We pray for those facing anguished relationships. May those burdened with worry, anxiety and doubt feel lightened by sharing their troubles and trusting in God to bring console and comfort.
We pray for those seeking forgiveness and those struggling to forgive. Help them to move forward positively, wholeheartedly and truthfully, bringing a new chapter of harmony and contentment to their lives.
We pray for those living in poverty, those that do not have enough food or warmth to thrive. Help us to support and give to those in need.
We pray for those that are suffering and living with daily pain. May the Holy Spirit restore and revive them for better, healthier days ahead.
Loving Lord, help us to see the good in all people, help us to be beacons of Christianity, bringing positivity and hopefulness to those we meet. Amen.
