Bidding Prayers – 13th July

Loving Lord, help us to be a good Samaritan and show mercy on those who have fallen, those who are in need and those who are different from us. Hear our prayers we bring before you.

Our holidays provide a chance to travel and contemplate the beauty of nature and allows us time for new friendships and to meditate and pray. May all who are gathered here today enjoy time this summer for restful rejuvenation.

We pray for the most vulnerable across the globe, those that are starving, those living in disaster and despair through the result of war, those suffering at the hands of natural disaster. May the Holy Spirit cradle those most in need providing refuge and solace.

We pray for those finishing school, college, and university, both students and teachers. May the summer provide them with fresh opportunity, rest, and relaxation ready to begin new adventures in September.

We pray for own peace and contentment. May our faith inspire us and bring about in us a peaceful assurance that enables us to make good decisions, take on new opportunities and draw closer to the life God intended for us.

We give thanks for the beauty of the natural world; we pray for its protection and care. As we enjoy the outdoors this summer, help us to see God in the small and perfect details of creation.

We pray to be like today’s good Samaritan. Let us offer ourselves to others, let us live by our Christian virtues of putting others before ourselves. Help us to be brave enough to step across the road and truly service the Lord.

Lord God, you said, “my peace I leave you, my peace I give you” thank you for this great gift. You forever instil calm confidence in us, thank you for bringing peace to our lives and hearts. Amen.
