God loves each one of us more than we can possibly imagine and so we confidently offer our prayers for our own needs and for those of our fragile, beautiful world.
We pray for all religious leaders as they challenge humanity to rediscover forgiveness and mercy. May we imitate Jesus, who forgave us our faults and failings even from the Cross.
We pray for our families, friends and communities. May Jesus’ message of love and forgiveness be the light on our journey through life and the song in our heart.
We pray for all those people who feel themselves crushed by war, injustice, violence and discrimination. May they discover joy and hope in their darkness and compassion in their suffering.
We pray for all who have been affected by this year’s floods, wildfires, drought, earthquakes and other natural disasters. May they laugh, even though their tears, as they rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
We pray for the many children and young people who are starting the new academic year, and for their families and teachers. May their learning be an adventure of discovery, interest and friendship.
We pray for families who are struggling to earn the money they need for everyday necessities. Despite their hardship, may they continually grow closer to each other in love and understanding.
Lord of joy and hope, be with us. Stay with us. Teach us to find you in each other. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
