Bidding Prayers – 14th September

Lord, let us take up our cross and follow you. Enlighten the eyes of our mind so that we can see what hope your call holds for each of us. Hear our prayers we place before you.

We pray as we are reminded that Jesus cried out on the cross, not in desperation, but as a “sincerity, truth taken to the limit, trust that endures even when all is silent” and encourages us to avoid seeing crying as a weakness, but rather as an act of extreme prayer.

We pray for the children of Ukraine, Gaza, and other regions of the world afflicted by war. We pray for their ongoing protection and that they may look forward, with anticipated hope, for peace filled days ahead.

As we continue to witness the devastating effect of climate change, we pray that world leaders, local governments and communities work together to protect our common home.

We pray for those, who for whatever reason, feel ostracised from the church. We pray that our own church community will reach out and invite those seeking God. We pray for those navigating their faith journey. May the Holy Spirit enliven and encourage them to find a safe haven in a welcoming church community.

We pray for ordinary people whose quiet, everyday actions manifest great holiness. Let us remember that even the smallest acts of kindness can create the biggest life changing impact.

Heavenly King, your constant presence in our life continues to inspire and encourage us always. Continue to guide us ever closer to you. Amen.
