Bidding Prayers – 17th August

In a world which longs to be united in love, let us bring our prayers before the Lord of love, who listens to our every need.

We pray for the challenges to world leaders to work for peace. May they offer hope to a world hungering for an end to violence and bloodshed, especially in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We pray for world leaders and those in positions of power. May they work for justice, peace, and the dignity of all people, especially the poor and marginalised. May they seek to serve rather than to be served.

We pray for those who have been affected by the many recent natural disasters. May they find support and hope in their time of need and may members of the emergency services be blessed for their generous courage on behalf of others.

We pray for farmers and growers during this time of harvest. As they face the heavy work of bringing in their crops, may they have the weather that they need for a good harvest.

We pray for our parish community during this holiday season. May we grow in unity, holiness, and service to others.

We pray for those who have died, especially our relatives and friends. May they be welcomed into their eternal home. May those who mourn their passing find comfort and support in their sadness.

Loving Father, hear our prayers and help us to live lives that reflect your goodness. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
