Bidding Prayers – 18th October

Father Almighty, we come to you with open hearts, hear our prayers that we bring before you.

We pray for churches across the UK that are struggling due to reduced income. We give thanks to the British Government’s Recovery Grant Fund and the generosity of so many parishioners, supporting their church through these difficult times.

As UK unemployment rates surge to its highest level in over three years we pray that companies will try to protect as many jobs as possible and the Government will help those who lose their job back into employment.

We pray for local leaders that are tasked with managing Coronavirus restrictions within their local community. We pray that leaders show compassion and responsibility and community members uphold virtues of patience and understanding.

We pray for exhausted NHS workers. Grant them restful sleep and ease their weary bodies.

We pray for those suffering with long term chronic pain. May the Holy Spirit infuse their bodies, aid their rest and bring them inner peace and tranquillity.

Lord God, Heavenly King, let us hear your voice through our daily struggles. Let us focus our thoughts and attention on you forever more. Amen.
