God of life, as we continue through the Easter season, steady us in hope and faith, and make us aware of your presence in all things.
As Pope Leo dares to speak truth to power, we echo his words in our hearts. We pray that his voice will be heard and his words will lead to change where it is so badly needed.
We pray for a swift and lasting resolution to war in the Middle East. We hold in our prayers all citizens whose lives are turned upside down by conflict – those who are displaced, who are injured, grieving, left amid the rubble of war. May they find consolation in terrible times.
We pray with gratitude for the signs of spring we see around us – for the longer days, for new growth and green shoots. May this changing season lift our spirits and reassure us that God always sends spring to follow winter.
We pray for our own communities, particularly for those within them who are struggling with illness, anxiety or uncertainty. We remember anyone affected by economic uncertainty. May they receive the support they need and not feel forgotten, ignored or neglected.
God of unconditional, limitless love – you know our needs before we ask. As we go from here into the week ahead may we speak kindly and act with love in all things. We ask this with confidence, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
