Almighty God, our heavenly Father, you promised through your Son Jesus Christ to hear us when we pray in faith.
Holy God, as we continue our Lenten journey make us mindful of our potential for good and for growth, as we strive for perfection in your sight despite our human failing and imperfections.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Loving God, we pray for the leaders of our church both locally and nationally that they will hear encouragement and will always respond in love and forgiveness when difficulties arise.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Creator God, we pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices. We pray for the world that in this time of uncertainty, we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need. May leaders never be tempted to abuse or misuse their power. Help and guide them to show wisdom and resolve in the search for peace. We particularly pray for the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as it enters yet another year – Lord please bring peace.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Creator God, we thank you for all the wonders of the world which belongs to you but was given into our care at the beginning of time. Help us to be good stewards, always mindful of the tragic consequences of our lack of care.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Merciful God we raise before you those we know and love who are ill, sad or in need. We pray for all who care for them at home or in care homes or hospital. Come close and bring comfort and healing to all those who we now name before you in a moment of silence.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Merciful God, you know when our hearts are broken by bereavement. You know the pain of loss because you suffered through the death of your only son. In the midst of ongoing sorrow, help us to rejoice in the comfort of the hope, encouragement, and comfort that your promise of eternal life brings to all who believe in Jesus. Come close and bring comfort and healing to all those who we now name before you.
Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Everlasting God, may we show and share our love and trust for you wholeheartedly, today, as we go back out into the world and through every day of our Lenten journey.
Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
