Bidding Prayers – 28th June

Saints Peter and Paul lived and died spreading the good news of God’s love for all people of every time, place and situation.

We pray for all Church leaders. May they inspire many people to live with the courage and faith they need to be authentic witnesses of God’s love.

We pray for the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes. We pray that the survivors find the courage and support that they urgently need and those who have died, will rest in peace. May God watch over, protect and bless the efforts of the emergency services and rescuers. May all find comfort in their grief.

We pray for those in authority in a world which aches for peace, justice and compassion. May they work together to protect the dignity of every human life, especially those who are poor, sick, and whose voices go unheard.

We pray for parents who worry for their children, for households facing crisis, and for all who feel overwhelmed. May they find answers to their questions, peace in their anxiety and hope in their daily lives.

We pray for all who are sick, fearful, isolated or awaiting medical treatment. May the Lord who healed the suffering woman bring them strength, peace, and hope.

We pray for travellers and for everyone who works to keep life functioning as normally as possible during this time of unusually high temperatures. May they be blessed for their generosity and helpfulness to the people around them.

We pray for our parish community. May we reach out with tenderness to those who feel on the margins and be signs of God’s life-giving love in our neighbourhoods.

God of life and compassion, hear the prayers we offer in faith. Heal our wounds, strengthen our hope, and draw us ever closer to your Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
