Bidding Prayers 31st January

Lord God, we spend our days asking questions and looking for answers. Life is not easy. In the ups and downs of our daily lives, we know that we know that we can come to you, confident that we will always find a loving, faithful heart which is open to listen to our deepest longings.

We pray for all religious leaders: may they inspire hope and courage in hearts which are longing for hope-filled role models in the global search for dignity, human rights, understanding and dialogue.

We pray for national and local government leaders, for scientists and for frontline workers in the battle against covid-19:may wisdom and compassion guide their efforts to bring healing to individuals, families and communities aching for a return to normality.

We pray for the many people who are mourning the loss of a loved one for whatever reason: may they find the comfort and support that they need at this time and may those who have died be enjoying eternal life with our amazing God.

We pray for schoolchildren, students and teachers: may they discover new and exciting friendships and opportunities in the educational challenges which the pandemic has caused.

We pray for everyone experiencing job insecurity at this time: may they experience the support and encouragement of family, friends and colleagues as they look towards the future.

We pray for the unsung heroes of the pandemic, people who have quietly gone out of their way to offer help and support to others: may God bless their goodness with hearts with hope and sunshine.

God of life and hope, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, walk with us at every moment of every day. Fill us with your love. Amen.
