Bidding Prayers – 31st May

Lord God, as we celebrate Trinity Sunday we bring before you the needs of the Church, the world, our communities and ourselves.

We pray for people living in places affected by war and violence, especially in Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan. May those in positions of power be guided in choosing dialogue over destruction, and may peace come to hold sway in our troubled world.

We pray for young people who are preparing for exams. May they recognise and appreciate their God-given gifts, and may they receive the encouragement and support they need to put them to good use.

We hold before the Lord all those whose lives and livelihoods are affected by climate change – particularly those affected by the heatwaves, for farmers and those who work in nature. We ask God to guide those whose decisions and policies affect our natural environment.

We pray for those who are sick, anxious or struggling at this time, and for those who care for them. We also remember those who have died, especially our own loved ones and all who have gone before us in faith. May they rest in peace.

We take a moment for our personal prayers…

Father, Son and Holy Spirit – hear the prayers we make in faith, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
