We pray as we are reminded , being men and women of dialogue means remaining deeply rooted in the Gospel and in the values that flow from it and to cultivate openness and listening with those who come from other backgrounds. Help us to be understanding advocates of peace and harmony.
Loving Lord, today we hear your apostles ask you to, “Increase our faith”. As we gather here, we ask the same. Hear our prayers we bring before you.
We pray for those facing uncertainty and fear. May the Holy Spirit help dispel the knot of unknowing and provide a future of clarity and focus.
We pray for those in difficult relationships. Help us to remember the precious sacraments of marriage and baptism and the vows we took to bless and protect our spouse, our children. May the Holy Spirit assist all those in challenging relationships to regain a feeling of unity and togetherness.
We pray to be suppliers of unconditional love. Help us to give our love freely, without rules or judgements to those who need it most. We ask the Holy Spirit to encourage us to be a welcoming people, let us open our hearts, just as Jesus did, to all people.
Yesterday marked the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, let us pray to be powerful custodians of our beautiful world. Help us to do small things, that collectively, make the biggest difference.
We pray for our own church community. May all those that are gathered here today feel the love and support of each other and the warmth and protection of their Christian faith.
We pray for a moment for our own personal petitions…
Father, thank you for being with us. We feel your presence guiding us through our concerns and worries and we feel you share in our happiness and joy. You are our constant. Amen.
