In this Season of Creation, we praise our loving Lord, present in our beautiful and fragile world, living in our hearts and in all humanity. We bring our prayers before him, conscious that he loves us more than we can possibly imagine.
We pray for the Church throughout the world. May our words and actions inspire many people to be faithful stewards of God’s precious gift of life.
We pray for everyone in positions of leadership, whether local, national or international. May they act with integrity and wisdom to build peace and find solutions to conflict.
We pray for the people of Sudan and Afghanistan who have been affected by this week’s earthquakes. As people cope with the devastation and emergencies, may they grow in understanding and put an end to fighting and injustice.
We pray for anybody who feels broken, weary, or forgotten. May they know God’s healing presence and the support of a loving community.
We pray for children and young people, parents and teachers at the start of the new academic year. May they find encouragement, support and laughter in the days that lie ahead.
We pray for our local community, for our neighbours, families, and all who share in the life of this parish. May we grow in understanding, compassion and welcome for each other.
Merciful God, you call us to be more like you in our living and loving. Fill us with your love. Help us to be instruments of your peace. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
