Bidding Prayers – 9th November

Let us bring our prayers before God, who is our refuge and strength, as we remember those who have suffered and died in war, and as we seek peace in our time.

We remember all religious leaders. May they challenge the people of our troubled world to work together in ever greater understanding and peacefulness.

We remember leaders of nations and peacemakers everywhere, especially in the Middle East, Ukraine and Sudan. May they work with integrity and courage to resolve conflict and build a just peace.

We remember all who have died in war and conflict, and those who were wounded or experienced life-changing trauma. May those who have died rest in the peace of Christ and the survivors find healing of their lives and memories.

We remember members of the armed forces, peacekeepers, and all who risk their lives for the sake of others. Grant them courage, wisdom, and protection.

We remember families who still grieve, comrades who carry the weight of memory, and all whose lives were changed by loss. May they know comfort, hope, and the calming presence of God.

We remember the people of the Caribbean following Hurricane Melissa, of the Philippines after Typhoon Kalmaegi, and of Afghanistan after its serious earthquake. May they receive the support that they need and find hope as they try to rebuild their homes and lives.
