Bidding Prayers for Sunday 17th September

Prayers

Loving Lord, you welcome back anyone and everyone who has done wrong. We are so grateful to have your constant love and support. Help us to be more understanding and open with our affections. Hear our prayers we bring before you.

We pray with all Church leaders as they express their profound sorrow for the thousands of people feared dead and the massive destruction caused by the devastating flooding in Libya.

We pray for those who died during the Moroccan earthquake and those who survived who are now living in tents near the ruins of their shattered homes and are bracing for the cold and rain of winter.

As the world is falling short of the action needed to avoid serious climate disruption from rising temperatures, we pray for the future of our planet and hope national leaders create a true catalyst for change.

As pupils and teachers settle into the new academic year, we pray that experiences will be happy and memorable, enthusing a lifetime love of learning.

As we enter the autumn months, let us pray for those worrying about food and heating bills. May those struggling financially receive the help and support they need to thrive.

We pray for those that are in pain, unwell and suffering. May the Holy Spirit bless, protect, and comfort them.

We pray for a moment for our own personal petitions…

Dear Lord, we thank you for being so forgiving and for always looking for us when we are lost and far from you.  Amen.
