Bidding Prayers for Sunday 18th June

Good Shepherd, you called us to imitate you in loving people, regardless of their life situations – and so we come to you today, bringing with us those we know and love and also those whom we may never meet.

We pray for the Pope after his operation. May he have the health and strength that he needs to lead the Church in compassionate concern for the poor and marginalised people in society.

We pray for all those who have unexpectedly lost loved ones this week. We pray for the families bereaved through the many tragedies which have recently appeared in the news. May they find the courage and hope that they need and may their loved ones rest in peace.

We pray for those who struggle with job insecurity, housing and the cost of living. May just solutions be found to their many problems and may they discover opportunities for laughter and love.

We pray for all those who are sitting exams at this present time. May they have clear minds and the insight that they need to do well.

We pray for young people, especially for those who are experiencing big changes in their lives. May they find good mentors and the encouragement that they need to go forward with joy and enthusiasm.

We pray for the seminarians who will be ordained deacons and priests within the next few weeks. As they start their journey, may they have the wisdom to learn from the people whom they will serve and may they work with generosity and compassion.

Loving Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever. Amen.
