Bidding Prayers Sunday 14 February

Lord of an unending love which is far greater than any of us can imagine, we come before you today, bringing you all the people who live within our hearts. We ask you to listen to our prayers, confident that you hear even our unspoken needs and longings.

We remember the people of Myanmar and Hong Kong in their struggle for democracy and freedom. May their voices be heard, and their human rights respected.

We remember those who are sick and those who care for them. May each day bring them the hope, laughter and support that they need to face the future.

We remember rough sleepers during this cold weather and the people who, through whatever cause, are at risk of losing their homes. May they find security and positive solutions to their difficulties.

We remember people who are finding the lockdown a time of loneliness and isolation. May they find companionship. May God reward and bless the loving generosity of young carers who give meaning to the lives of those for whom they care.

We remember the men, women and children who are working to bring support and hope to their families, friends, neighbours, workplace and classrooms. May their joy and courage infect all of us with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
